What this also makes me notice is, from a grief and trauma perspective, all the moments with loved ones that have passed away are still here right now and "noone ever really dies" as the musical group N.E.R.D. pointed out with their acronym. But at the same time, if one cannot let go of attachments, which can include grieving effectively, then they will stay stuck and obstructed.

Thich Nhat Hanh wrote about how "our ancestors are in us" and I always took this in a metaphorical or Buddhist cause and effect sense but it's interesting to consider how with this perspective you've shared the statement could more literally be taken to be true.
